The restaurant serves up some homemade preserves that are a game changer, and the lounge area vibes are on point thanks to Michael Phelan. The staff is super friendly, making you feel right at home and like a VIP upon check-in!
The room had some surprises—think dirty carpets and a noisy freeway right outside! It felt like there were extra charges popping up like a game of whack-a-mole, which left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great Location and Friendly Staff
I recently stayed for three nights and found the location absolutely perfect for exploring the area. The staff were incredibly welcoming, which made my stay feel special. However, the room I was in could use some updates, as the carpets were a bit worn and the amenities were basic.

Good for a quick stay but not luxurious
The staff were fantastic I mean every single person I crossed paths with was like a breath of fresh air they really made me feel welcomed and helped me with directions to a local event that I was interested in and let me tell you I got to experience something special during my stay going to a rodeo show which was an unexpected highlight of the trip
It wasn’t cheap but honestly the state of the rooms really needed some attention and not at all what I’d expect for the price, the bathroom had issues that were frankly embarrassing like peeling paint and a showerhead that looked like it was from another era

i had a really great stay at the royal sonesta. the staff made me feel welcome and took care of my needs quickly, turning what could have been a hassle into a smooth experience. my room was spacious, clean, and offered stunning city views that enhanced my relaxation during my couple of days there.

missingWrote a review on Jul 10central locationheated poollounge areabusy highway
Solid central location with direct access to a noisy freeway, but a quick walk puts the Galleria Mall and restaurants right at your fingertips. The lounge area offers a nice vibe for casual gatherings, along with a heated pool that’s just the ticket for relaxing after a long day.
The $30 self-parking fee feels a bit steep, and the noise from the highway can be a deal breaker for light sleepers. soundproofing could definitely improve the experience. Room aesthetics also need work—noticeable incomplete paint jobs and the bed setup looks bare with just a boxspring despite the comfort. Plus, rooms require a request for cleaning, which can be a tad inconvenient when you just want to kick back and relax.

Good for business travelers
The staff was genuinely nice, like this Milton guy in the lounge-he really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The room had this modern setup, nice desk for work, and a huge tv, which made my stay more comfortable than expected.
It wasn't cheap, but I guess that's the price you pay for the quality.

The location was fantastic, making it easy for our family to explore Houston's attractions. We particularly loved the kid-friendly pool area, which was a hit with our three small children. It was a great way to wind down after busy days in the city.
My children wished there were more family-oriented activities or dedicated play areas in the hotel to keep them entertained during downtime.

The Royal Sonesta offered a spacious room with fantastic city views. The staff greeted me with smiles and catered to my needs quickly. Their friendliness made me feel right at home. I loved the homemade preserves served at breakfast. they added a special touch to the meal. However, there were some drawbacks. The room had dirty carpets, which was disappointing, and I encountered noisy traffic from the nearby freeway. Some unexpected charges popped up during my stay, which left me frustrated. Additionally, I wish there had been a microwave in the room for added convenience.

Had a great time with friends enjoying inventive cocktails like Royal Bees Knees and Tiki Rita. Perfect spot to relax after visiting Minute Maid Park and the Galleria. The atmosphere made our trip memorable, and the staff was friendly.
However, be aware that I encountered an issue with used washcloths in my shower. Housekeeping marked my room clean by mistake, which was a bit unsettling.
